FAQ’s

COVID-19: How are you keeping both of us safe?

Keeping my clients and me safe is a top priority at Laberge Massage Therapy. I have developed COVID-19 Policy and Procedures that you should read here.

How do I book a massage appointment?

Massage appointments can be booked through this website or by calling the office at 518.577.5488.

What should I wear to my massage appointment?

When possible, wear comfortable clothing (workout pants or shorts and a t-shirt).  This allows different options to address your needs.

What is your cancellation policy?

As a courtesy to other clients and myself, kindly give a 24-hour notice of cancellation to avoid a full charge for the session reserved for you. Thank you.

Do you use oil?

No, I work with and without paraben-free massage creams.

Is massage right for me?

If you have questions, please call and talk to me prior to scheduling an appointment.  I am happy to help you determine if massage is indicated.  You may need to contact your doctor depending on your unique condition.

How many massage sessions will I need?

Good question!  Your goal, current condition and completion of an initial session will determine your frequency of sessions. Together we will develop a plan  that makes sense for you.

  • Acute conditions may warrant therapy at least twice a week until your condition resolves
  • Chronic pain pain may be weekly/bi-weekly or monthly sessions
  • Athletes in training often receive weekly sessions to support them through their training process
  • Healthy body maintenance every 4-6 weeks

Do you accept my insurance? No Fault?

  • Check with your insurance company to see if they cover massage; most do not
  • I will provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company when needed
  • Flex spending, health savings, etc. cards accepted as indicated by your plan

Should I use ice or heat after my massage session?

I will discuss and recommend appropriate use of heat and ice after each session as needed.

Do you offer couples massage?

I am a sole practitioner and do not offer couples massages

Sick with cold/flu/fever, what should I do?

If you are in the early and most contagious stage (first 48-72 hours) of a cold or flu, please do NOT come in for your session. Please phone or text me to cancel with as much notice as possible, so that I may be able to fill the spot with a patient on my wait-list. I appreciate your thoughtful consideration of this matter. Please note, cancellation fees will not be charged for last minute cancellations  due to illness. THANK YOU!

What types of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, checks and major credit cards.

How long is a massage session?

Your massage session will last 30, 60 or 90 minutes depending on the amount of time you reserved.  Please be prepared to discuss your session goal(s) and promptly begin bodywork.  This allows for the most effective use of your time.

Inclement weather

I will call to confirm your appointment in cases of unsafe driving conditions (e.g., snowstorm).  Cancellation fees will not apply under these circumstances.

What if I am late for my massage session?

Please call to let me know you are running late and then drive safely.  Once you arrive we will work for the remainder of time originally set aside for your session. You are responsible for the full session fee.
